Design notes

About this luminaire

Overview

The Apex Array Floodlight is a bracket-mounted system designed for football pitches, athletics tracks, golf courses, and other large outdoor venues where uniform, high-intensity illumination is required across wide horizontal spans.

Construction

Each head unit pairs a phase-change heat sink with a PC or borosilicate glass lens. The heat sink passively manages junction temperature across the full power range, avoiding active cooling components. Optics are field-selectable across five beam angles — 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, and 120° — allowing the array configuration to match the specific throw distance and uniformity target of the installation.

LED sources are high-efficacy 3535 SMD or high-density COB chips rated at 180 lm/W. Input is handled by a Mean Well driver accepting AC 86–265 V, providing broad compatibility with local grid voltages.

Control

Default operation is single-colour constant output. Optional 0–10 V or DALI dimming interfaces are available for venues requiring scene-level or centrally managed dimming.

Scalability

Because all head units share identical mechanical and electrical interfaces, configurations can be assembled or extended in the field without tooling. Any combination of modules is supported.
